Festival Wedding
A wedding near Penistone, Barnsley. It was really something quite unique for us to photograph. From the venue and teepees to the food and decorations. It was hosted by the family of the bride from their home. It was important to be here as the children grew up here and therefore had a spiritual feel about the celebration. The house backed on to fields which the local farmer was happy to loan the couple for the three day long celebration. Handy for three huge teepees.
Often the weather can be pretty horrific for weddings in England. We are happy to be in sunnier climes for most of the summer period. However, this was commissioned by a friend and we were happy to help out. The weather was kind and everyone had a happy time of it all.
What was really good for us was the unusual festival feel. The food was festival food, pie and peas no less… straw bails scattered for seating with unusual decorations. Scarecrows and ice cream vans. All in all a great wedding to photograph. We even had the pleasure of taking our Land Rover with rooftop tent and camping overnight.
