Family portrait turns toward Penn for influence

Having always admired the work of Irving Penn, I was influenced to capture a portrait of my sister-in-law. Now, heavily pregnant with her first child and expecting delivery in the coming weeks, today was the day to photograph her. Portraiture sittings can often be the most difficult area of photography. Many portrait photographers have crafted their skill to draw the personality from the sitter. But also putting their own stamp or style into the photograph is very important.

We don’t claim to be master portrait photographers but we can certainly appreciate the skill needed to capture something special. We try to emulate the greats and try to put our sitters in a mental place where can feel relaxed. This is an expanding body of work which we constantly develop. We take on more and more portrait photographs for our Balearic customers season on season. We find that it is a perfect time to capture those special moments for a family before they head back to work.
