Morocco
We have finished our edit of our exciting trip around Morocco, capturing photographs of the diverse landscape this country has to offer. After a busy 2019 wedding season on Majorca, Menorca and Ibiza, we decided to drive to Morocco to experience the Sahara, the food and the Atlantic coastline of this vibrant African country.
With such a different culture from our Spanish home, there was a photograph to capture with every turn of the head. The people, their dress and the vibrancy of the clothing was particularly noticeable. An exotic place, yet so close to Europe. We experienced great diversity within the landscape. There were lush forests in the north, arid desert, mountain peaks and the wild Atlantic. The cities were vibrant, the food delicious and the people welcoming. Casablanca, contrary to popular opinion, was an interesting and vibrant city, improving fast. Marrakech is a must see and the port city of Tangiers on the Mediterranean is there upon arrival or departure. No wonder it is heralded as one of the great African countries. It bridges the continents of Africa and Europe perfectly.
Perhaps this is because of the mentality of the people which has welcomed travelers throughout the ages. It therefore continues to be a safe destination for people wishing to step beyond Europe, without having to plan so much. Having a closed border with Algeria, it has forged closer ties with Europe, which many other African countries have not. It has busy shipping lanes which connect Spain and Morocco. There is a customs area belonging to Spain on the African continent, allowing all the customs and passport checks to be completed on the Spanish side. When you arrive you can therefore drive, without delay, after disembarking the boat. Everything about visiting Morocco is there to make the trip an easy and enjoyable experience. Tourism is valued and your stay will be valued.
We are already planning our next trip in 2020.
