Photograhing the Lawrence & Foster hat factory

Manufacturing across the British Isles is on the up. We were photographing at the Lawrence & Foster factory, which is very near the Burberry factory, in West Yorkshire. Lawrence & Foster manufacture quality hats which are sold across the world. It would appear that anything with a ‘Made in England’ label is a sign of quality just now. It is something that the British are embracing, bringing manufacturing back from the Far East and and rejuvenating our quality manufacturing industry which we once had.

The photography commission was to catalogue all the styles from their range which could be sold online. It was important to get the photographs as clear as possible to show the quality which goes into the manufacture. Every angle and internal photographs of the lining and construction.

In addition to the product line, we were also asked to photograph the factory and the skilled work force. These photographs could be used in blog post and for advertising purposes. Now the website is complete and the online shopping basket has started to take orders.
