The Dyehouse

The Dyehouse is a division of One17Design, an architectural practice in Huddersfield, Yorkshire, England. They commissioned Britton Brothers to photograph all of their homeware and furniture in a disused mill in Huddersfield. Using only daylight from the south and north, through the windows of the mill, we manipulated the light to get warm and cool pastel shades throughout the product photography.

The end result of a four day shoot for the Dyehouse is a beautifully designed brochure. It was printed with careful consideration to the weight and feel of the paper. It was finished with copper colour blocking for their logo on the front cover. A beautifully designed brochure which tranlates the quality of the product design between the covers.

All the furniture, which is manufacturing by One17Design is locally cast and made using craftsmen who work closely with the practice. The idea was born because the architects wanted to create not only the cutting edge designs for peoples homes, but they also wanted to see the kind of furniture and product within these architectural designs which would compliment the build.
