El Toro Sanctuary
The church on El Toro is the highest point on the island. If you want spectacular views at your wedding ceremony then El Toro has to be the spot. On a clear day, Mallorca is clearly visible. If you walk around the sanctuary then the whole island reveals itself to you.
As a photographer I was excited to photograph here because of the excellent locations for shooting. I have visited this sanctuary for many years from being a child and I know it well. The courtyard and approach to the church, the tiered terrace looking north towards Fornells, the church itself and the impressive drive heading back towards Es Mercadal. Here we have captured some great photographs of the wedding car. Some can be seen in the section ‘wedding car’ below.
The sanctuary has opened it’s doors to both multi faith ceremonies and non-Catholic weddings. If you wish to have your ceremony here but are not Catholic then it is worth speaking with Reverend Paul Strudwick at the Anglican Church in Es Castell. He may be able to help.
