Son Marroig near Deia
This wedding day was the coming together of family and friends from the Netherlands and the other from Los Angeles in the USA.
The families met the night before the wedding in in the beautiful village of Valldemossa. We have photographed several times at the Eglesia Bartolomeu. The village is one of the prettiest, if not the prettiest on the island. It was a very impressive introduction for the guests.
In the mountainous north of Mallorca near Deia is the former residence of the Habsburg Archduke Ludwig Salvator. It is now a wedding venue for hire. The dramatic landscape and ceremonial place, built from white marble imported from Italy, makes for a strong portfolio of photographs that you’ll look back on with fond memories.
Quite possibly this is the best view of the mountainous landscape which reaches down to the sea. You have to see it to believe it. It benefits from a terrace where your guests will enjoy their wedding breakfast. There is also a quiet garden area where you can have a few moments to yourself in the peace and tranquility. The pond and water features add to the atmosphere a photographer’s perfect location.
Visit Son Marroig on the road to Deia from Valldemossa. You will see the Roman marble columns appear near the sea on your left hand side. It can be located by driving to Sa Foradada, a tourist hot spot, which is the geological feature. For more information click on the link below for more information and photographs on Son Marroig.
