A large part of a successful photographic shoot is in the preparation. The preparation can consist of many individual aspects. One of the first things that we do is to introduce ourselves to the couple after their communication with us. This can be done months ahead of the wedding day or several days before. This wholly depends on where our customers live. Sometimes it is not possible to meet way in advance, so we meet on the island before the wedding day. Building a rapport is a vital part of photographing a wedding
Secondary are the locations. Getting to know the locations for the shoot are part of good preparation. Usually we have the bridal preparation location, the ceremonial venue and the reception venue. Things to consider are the lighting. Sometimes there are parts of the day which are uncontrollable. This is most common in a church during the ceremony. However, with digital cameras these days, the equipment can deal with low light situations very well. What can be controlled is the photographer’s ability to use the environment. The ability to use available light or shadow to photograph people in the best area possible. This is all in the preparation and visiting the venues beforehand are vital.
The very vibrant and colourful landscape of Mardavell Hotel in Portals Nous, where we were photographing yesterday, gave us some very pleasing results. This can be seen in our ‘Portfolio’ section. With HDR capture on the camera and some tweaking in Photoshop. The gardens are beautifully landscaped and look so vibrant in the photography. The bridal preparations, the ceremony and reception were all in the hotel and hotel grounds. Therefore on this particular wedding, the preparation was convenient. Here you can view the bridal make up being applied to an already exquisite face.
If you are considering a wedding in Mallorca then this hotel is well worth visiting before making any decisions on alternative venues.
