Villa Binisegarra
There’s a relatively new wedding venue on the list of luxury villas you can hire for your wedding or event on the island of Menorca and it will not disappoint. Binisegarra is an absolute gem of a venue and we were fortunate enough to have been here twice over the last five weeks. It can sleep easily eighteen people in nine double en-suite rooms. Having said that, we did not see every room so it may well sleep more.
We have been there in both July and August from this busy wedding season. Despite being the hottest months of the year, the garden areas looked well watered with healthy green grass and bushes in full bloom. Sitting in the well maintained gardens are the main house and outlying buildings. The house looked well maintained and immaculate. At the bottom of the garden, is the converted cow shed which now hosts guests for any wedding or event. This area has a dedicated cooking area for your outside caterer to use. Beyond this, is the swimming pool for those long, balmy Spanish days. Great to cool off under the sun and top up your tan before the big day.
What makes this site even more special and unique is the private land which stretches down to the south coast. So if you needed an area on the cliffs for your special event or marriage ceremony, then you have it. We have photographed two wedding ceremonies here in as many months and both were very special occasions. There will be a selection of the best nine over on our portfolio page. The link is at the bottom of this piece.
Binisegarra and places like these are beginning to open their doors on the island to fulfil the increasing demand for celebrations here on the island. If you need a relaxed, quiet Balearic island, quite unlike Ibiza or Mallorca, then consider Menorca. The size of the island is similar to Ibiza in square kilometers but is closer in vibe to Formentera. The island has some of the best beaches across the islands and the fiestas attract people from all over Spain, if you need your fix of Spanish mayhem.
The people who visit are more family orientated so demand for good restaurants rather than busy nightclubs are more the thing. With UNESCO protected Talaiots and Navetes which date back to Bronze Age, 4000 years ago, the island has much to offer the visitor in terms of history. Menorca has been occupied by the Byzantines, Romans, Moors, British, French and the Vandals and pirates, but the ancient structures still remain.
There is much to offer you and your guests if you choose Menorca for your wedding. Our favourite island, if you need any advice on how to put your wedding together then we would be more than happy to put you together with the right people.
